I found that I get little to nothing done if I do not challenge myself to actually get something done.
I tell myself “I bet you can’t get that done by…” or “I’m sure I can do this in…”
This tactic seems to work for me. For instance, last Thursday I went for a run, well more like wog – a slow jog – as I finished the first mile I was struggling. My ankles were hurting and my breathing was just not regulating. Usually after a mile I am warm and ready to jog some more but not this day.
Now, I was not in pain and had run further in the past, so I figured I’d push on to 3 miles like I planned unless there was pain somewhere. I told myself “just 3 miles and I am done”. “DONE” being the key word. I pictured myself being happy that I finished what I came out to do, get home, shower
