I’m sure if you have been working online to promote your small mompreneur business you have read a multitude of articles about of how to get more traffic, followers, likes, comments and interaction to your Facebook Page. So I don’t really want to bore you and repeat what everyone else says.
Sure, you need to have a presence. Yes, you need to update on a regular basis and converse with your fans. And by all means be sure to be helpful and solve your readers problems.
But how do you REALLY get noticed and have interaction that will translate into sales and repeat customers?
You can literally be on Facebook 24/7 and get little to no interaction or results.
I have come up with 7 really simple, fun ways you can get more interaction on your Facebook Page.
Here are My 7 Ways for 7 Days to get Better Facebook Results
1. Using your Facebook profile, interact on other pages and profiles.
Get to know others in your niche or complimentary ones. If you sell flowers, make friends with a person that sells greeting cards. I’m sure it can be beneficial to know someone in that business.
Be sure to have a link on your Facebook profile to your Facebook Business page so when they get curious to who you are, they know you have a page also.
2. Ask your friends to like your page.
I know, to me this sounded odd, like begging for likes. But, honestly, many of my friends didn’t know I had a page and they were very happy to support me.
Literally, the more “likes” you have on your page the more your page will grow. It is called “social proof“. When someone new comes to your Facebook page and sees many people are already there, they will wonder what the heck is all the fuss about and want to know by liking your page also.
This brings me to my next tactic…
3. With your personal friends on your page, they will help you to get people active.
The more interaction there is, the more likely people you do not know will comment on your updates and like your posts. Ask your friends to help you boost your online marketing by commenting or simply liking your updates. This will surely get the wheels turning for your efforts.
4. Share from your other social media platforms.
Share your YouTube videos, of course. But go even further and share your pins from Pinterest. There are even times I share my Tweets or Google Plus updates if they sparked conversation. I want all my friends and followers to be part of all the conversations.
I like to think of it like cross pollination, the more you have the more flowers you get.
This also helps to promote the other social media accounts you have active. If someone sees that you are also on Twitter, she will follow you there also.
5. Some great ways to break the ice on your page and get people to interact is to post questions that require easy answers.
Polls are great at doing this.
But also “this or that”. Facebook or Twitter? Pinterest or Etsy? Zombie or Vampire? Whatever you think will get people to interact that is not too controversial.
And every so often I ask people to simply “like” if something. “Like if you can’t wait for Spring.” “Like if you love to take naps in the afternoon.”
6. Everyone likes inspiration.
Of course, inspirational quotes are nice but how about an inspirational video you found on YouTube or Ted? The video does not always need to be related to what you sell or write about, mix it up.
When people feel inspired, they get happy. Happy people talk more and spend more.
7. And who doesn’t like a giveaway or deal?
Always offer special deals to your loyal fans on Facebook. People love feeling special and will be sure to always stick around to see if hey can snag deals on your Facebook page.
Do you really need more interaction?
I have to admit, it is not really necessary for your business to be successful at getting more comments and likes on your Facebook page. BUT it sure does help. The more interaction you have on your page, the more of your fans will actually see it. (See Facebook Edgerank description.) The more fans that see your updates, the more likely you can reach people to get sales.
Try these tactics for 7 days, see if you get more interaction. At first you may not, it depends of timing and how many fans you have. But do not give up. Talk to your fans and they will talk back, see what works for your and your business.
